Chief Wicked – “Mercedes” ft. Ted Park| @chiefwicked

South Florida Rapper, Chief Wicked releases the visual to his debut single, “Mercedes”

Just recently, Chief Wicked dropped his first ever visual for his track “Mercedes,” featuring rising star Ted Park out of Madison, WI. The video was directed by Will Macaulay aka Modern Day Auteur. This South Florida rapper, Chief Wicked seems to be hitting his stride. This video is fresh and offers a constant reminder that this kid is on to something.

Earlier this year, he released his debut EP titled “Way of the Wicked,” and admittedly, he didn’t think it would garner too much attention. However, its second track, a lyrical onslaught titled “52 Special,” caught fire and jumped to over 100,000 plays in its first few weeks on Soundcloud.

This unexpected reception inspired the University of Chicago junior to raise the bar, and although none of the tracks he’s dropped since then have blown up to quite that level, he has departed from a solely lyrical style and become more of a versatile artist. Last month he dropped a 10-track mixtape titled “Philosonegro.” Dedicated to his close friend who passed away earlier this year, it showcases his affinity for lyricism and wordplay, a variety of flows, and even some singing on the mixtape’s first single, “Black Market.” As of today, it has received over 40,000 total plays on Soundcloud.

But the Chief isn’t even close to finished. This month he dropped his first ever visual for his track “Mercedes,” featuring rising star Ted Park out of Madison, WI and directed by Will Macaulay aka Modern Day Auteur. The track is produced by Zaqueer and features the talent of Ted Park recently signed to Capital Records. The track features a smooth bollywood sample turned trap banger. Wicked applies a chopped up flow paired with aspirational lyrics of a young rapper, as he “hits the chop shop” for more beats to rhyme over.

Only a month ago,  he dropped a 10-track mixtape titled, “Philosonegro” which has clocked over 40,000 SoundCloud plays. Chief is gearing up to release two more projects by the end of January, so keep your eyes and ears open for this young spitter on the rise.
