Philly natives Jay Griffy and Philly Redface express “Feelings” on their latest single
Philly natives Jay Griffy and Philly Redface, collectively known as The Formula, release their new track “Feelings” produced by Tee Steez. The team spends time honing in on their movement. Regularly performing, exposing their sound and strong growing movement is the formula.
Hailing from Castel Hill in the Bronx, Jay Griffy saw a lot of movement with his family. They struggled to live the American dream finally settling in New Jersey when Jay Griffy was a teenager. Part of a strong movement known as JMW, Most Wanted in Jersey, it was this state that helped shape his sound while New York created his power.
His musical career clearly started as a child in New York. Jay grew up listening to tracks like” The Bridge is Overâted” and artists such as Eric B., Rakim, Kurtis Blow, DMX, and Run DMC. He diligently listened but learning to play instruments like the piano.
Philly Redface is a seasoned artist from the streets of North Philadelphia now residing in Atlanta, Georgia. His birth name, Nashid is Arabic for poet which inspired Philly to get into music at a young age. Philly Redface is motivated now more than ever to prove his position in Hip Hop and has since performed at several artist showcases and has a joint music group with rising artist, Griffy called The Formula.
Collectively, after being featured in USA Today, Vibe, Hip-Hop Since 1987, and other very popular publications, the two are currently preparing for their upcoming EP. The “All At Once” project will be released later this summer with Empire.
