THROWBACK THURSDAY PRESENTS JAY-Z’ “WHO YOU WIT”
While digging in the “Throwback” stash, look what we found! Shawn Carter aka Jay-Z’s joint, “Who You Wit”. This song brings back memories on how I became a Jay-Z fan.
This song- produced by Ski – has an infectious beat alongside a sick Jay-Z flow.
“Dough to get, more shows to rip / I suggest you all roll with the clique, who you wit / Frozen wrists and its flows that’s sick / More O’s than you know exist, bitch who you wit”
It was released in promotion of the 1997 comedy film Sprung and appears on its soundtrack, Sprung (Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture). Its beat samples “Night Love” by the Jeff Lorber Fusion.
The track named “Who You Wit II” appears on Jay-Z’s second album In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. It features the same beat but adds an additional verse that the original version lacked.
Thanks for rockin with us on this Platinum Hip Hop “Throwback Thursday” pick.
