Atlanta’s Iamfame Connects With Petey Pablo On

New Single “Lola”

Iamfame, pronounced I Am Fame, is a multi-dimensional artist that writes, produces, and performs all original work. Distinctive for great lyricism, flow, and storytelling, Iamfame is definitely on my radar for who’s next, as they say. Originally from Riegelwood, NC, the Sacramento, CA emcee reached back into his Carolina roots to team up with veteran multi-platinum artist and songwriter Petey Pablo to bring to life his new record, Lola, which to him means Family. Lola is a powerful tune, conveying Iamfame’s struggles coming from modest means and determination to see it through. He triumphantly declares that he and his team “got the juice” in the face of naysayers and adversity. This song literally has breakout hit written all over it. Infectious, inspiring, and definitely something to ride to, Lola represents a step forward from his 2016 release Hello, I Am Fame.

Lola succeeds because of a number of factors.

First, the realness is palpable and pulls you in immediately. Iamfame’s contagious flows, sing-along friendly rhyme schemes, and, most importantly, the urgency in his voice, come together to place you squarely in his mental state. He is the classic started from the bottom tale; very easy to make bland and run of the mill. Iamfame focuses your attention on the feeling of today with details from yesterday masterfully on this one.

Secondly, Petey Pablo only adds to the energy on the song with a sharp, polished delivery and to the point, unfiltered lyrics. His political stance and taking on heavier topics is an interesting, but natural, turn from the rest of the song. Instead of falling into the trap of mailing in a song or resting on name recognition, Petey comes through with a dope verse. Like most grown emcees, he has more than a mouthful to say.
