NEW ARTIST, SARAH KHATAMI RELEASES DEBUT SELF-TITLED EP
Emerging young pop/R&B artist, Sarah Khatami released her debut self-titled EP on iTunes and all streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music, as well as Amazon and Google Play. This record takes its listeners through a whirlwind of raw human emotions and essential social justice topics.
The first track, “This Time,” surfaced as a single on all platforms on December 22nd, 2017, is a nostalgic pop song about summer love and blind hope. The second track, “Where Do You Go,” is a sultry, laid-back R&B song about desperation and one-sided love. The third track, “Earring Girl,” is an intimate ballad about the daily struggles of mental illness. The fourth track, “Color,” is social justice anthem featuring rapper – Zaid Tabani. Finally, “All My Love” is the chill, feel-good, pop/R&B track that you’ll probably be playing at all those late-night, hazy, after-hours pool parties.
The talented musician, singer, and songwriter plays the piano and the ukulele. Also, she can sing in both English and her mother tongue Persian. She boasts an emotive and powerful voice with a unique, improvisational flair. She is inspired and influenced by great artists like Lauryn Hill, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Lianne La Havas, and renowned Persian musicians like Googoosh. Sarah is a junior at Berklee College of Music, where she majors in songwriting.
The EP, produced by Camila Acosta, mastered by Will Gooding and featured live musicians. They include John de la Prida (ukulele), Maya Lopez (piano), Oriana Aravena (guitar), AJ Lawrence (bass), and Madden Klass (drums).
