Memphis Recording Artist, Tay Rob releases debut single, “Square One”
Tay Rob, DeVonte James Robinson was born in Ft. Irwin, California. During his adolescent years, he spent a short time in Ft. Knox, Kentucky before permanently resing in Memphis, Tennessee. ‘Square One” is a song that he wrote with the mindset of starting over. I felt this song was a good way to start the year off with.
‘I feel like this song symbolizes that mindset for me.’
Now at age 23, he started writing music in high school but did not start recording music until 2016. Tay Rob delivers a non-vulgar and clean style of rap, along with witty wordplay and lyricism. Even though he has worked with several artists like Dylan Amoré, TaiTheGawd, Lil Dezzy, Ca$h Dozier, and A.D.U.B.B. Tay Rob has his mind set on something musically different from other artists.
During his career, he has worked with local producers like Malakinesis, C.S.O.M., Austin Chapline, and 84Music1. Tay is literally starting from square one with his music career by refocusing and rededicating himself to the craft. In a sense, Tay Rob feels as if he has figured out new and improved ways to work and maneuver within the music world.
