London UK Recording Artist, BIG HEATH drops “LONELY” EP & VIDEO FOR “LONELY”

Nas, DJ Semtex, and Rag ‘n’ Bone man championed UK rapper, BiG HEATH, releases his ‘Lonely EP’, including recent singles, Plan and SWiTCH SiDES. A rapper hailing not from an inner city, but rather the quiet suburbs of Cambridge, BiG HEATH is not only comfortable with being different, he embraces it, delivering rhymes that veer from the well-trodden ground of the ‘road’. His realness and sensitivity are clear to see within the introspective lyrical content, tackling vulnerability with surprising candor.

“When he opened Wireless Festival this year, it was legendary! He shut it down harddd! This guy is a beast on the mic, this guy is a beast live on stage.” DJ SEMTEX

Having inked a deal with Polydor Records, he has hunkered down in the studio with Show N Prove (J Hus, Stefflon Don, Giggs), Ishi (Usher, Ne-Yo, Wretch 32), Abaz (Tory Lanez, T-Pain, Gucci Mane), to create this debut project.

On the Lonely EP, Big Heath says, “I wrote it as an introduction to the game. I wanted to make a statement to the world that you shouldn’t judge a book its cover. The way I’ve presented Lonely embodies everything I want to represent – I want people to believe in themselves and break the mold. I’ve opened up about my family and my life up to this point, I wanted to set the scene and let people know my plan. ”

Having first started rapping at the age of 10 – when he realized it helped him overcome his stutter –  BiG HEATH got his first break in 2017 when he was booked for notable support slots with Nas and Freddie Gibbs. It was his live performance at Nas’ show in Liverpool that caught the attention of DJ Semtex, and by early 2018, BiG HEATH’s self-released single ‘SWiTCH SiDES’ was on heavy rotation at BBC 1Xtra. Plaudits from the likes of Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and Tinie Tempah followed, with critics earmarking him as the “next one up”, praising him for showcasing a different side to the UK Rap scene.

“Plan is a statement of intent,” says College Hip-Hop. Prepare for an onslaught because this rapper means big business, says the National Student in its Fresher Sounds round-up, while the likes of BBC 1Xtra, Radio 1, Trapped Magazine, Link UP,  Hype Magazine, PLTFRM UK and GRM Daily have also put their weight behind BiG HEATH. Keeping up the momentum this year, BiG HEATH opened the main stage at Wireless – brought out by Semtex – and performed on the Radio 1Xtra stage at Reading & Leeds Festival.

Big Heath is burning up the circuits with his wordplay and energetic presence, be on the lookout for him.
