UAE Hip-Hop Group, The Recipe have released the powerful new single “Bandana.”
The Recipe consists of 3 MC’s that continue to perform and push the boundaries of regional hip hop achievements. This time, they have delivered a song that touches on the false images portrayed in the hip-hop industry.
“We all wear masks, perhaps not in the literal sense, but masks nonetheless.”
The Recipe explore this notion in their latest single titled Bandana. The song was produced by UK based producer and long time collaborator, Brvnjes. This is the lead single for their album titled, “Funerals & Purgatory”.
The ‘bandana’ represents the masks we wear. Sometimes, these masks help us oppress who we truly are and sometimes we use them to express ourselves freely.
“‘Bandana’ highlights today’s hip-hop culture where masks are being worn everyday in order to fit in and sound relevant,” “Courage is being yourself in a world that tells you to be someone else.”
The Recipe has worked with artists like; Snoop Dogg, Fat Boy Slim, Akon, Fat Joe, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, De La Soul, Marcus Houston, Omarion, Lloyd, Prime Cuts, Foreign Beggars, Pendulum and Karl Wolf.
The Recipe mentioned prominent figures like; President Obama and Kanye West as examples of people that must play a role in order to succeed in their respective field.
“They are people that must wear bandanas to give you the image you expect.”
