THIRSTIN HOWL THE 3RD – “THIRSTY GIANT MASTAS” (FT. A.G. + MASTA ACE)

Thirstin Howl The 3rd, The Lo-Life General, returns with a Fatal Combination of Emcees

Thirstin Howl The 3rd’s new single “Thirsty Giant Mastas” (with an accompanying visual) features the Polorican alongside A.G. (of DITC) and Masta Ace. Over a gully beat produced by Matteo Getz, the three drop classic sounding East Coast bars. Speaking on the cook-up, Thirstin said “I’ve known Ace since like ’84 as a graffiti writer in Brownsville but we didn’t really get cool till a few years ago. I’ve been tight with A.G. since the 90s and he would come hang with me in Brownsville. I would hang with him in the Bronx. So, I get to work with people I’m also a fan of, and becoming friends and family with these people is like a dream.”

Hailing from the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, Thirstin Howl The 3rd blends his considerable lyrical skills with an offbeat sense of humor to create his singular old-school sound. Of Puerto Rican descent, The Lo-Life General raps over dirty beats, in both Spanish and English, spinning out hysterical tales and impressing with his formidable vocabulary and wordplay.

Howl founded Skillionaire Enterprises to release his own music — along with the rest of his Lo-Life posse — and his forays into other genres, like animation and fashion. The eclectic MC started making waves in 1997 when he won the Source’s Unsigned Hype award and wowed crowds at the first Rap Olympics. His breakthrough single, “Brooklyn Hardbook,” recorded with frequent collaborator Master Fuol, was released on Rawkus. Thirstin Howl III was destined to remain unsigned. His self-produced debut “Skillospher” featured contributions by luminaries such as Eminem and Mos Def was well-received. In 1999, he followed that effort with “Skillionaire” and “Serial Skiller” in 2001.

Now, in 2022, Thirstin Howl The 3rd’s “Thirsty Giant Mastas” is taken from the forthcoming LP “Thoughts Skillustrated” (SKILLIONAIRE Enterprises / Getz Productions) which drops on 5/18 and is fully produced by Matteo Getz. Another track from the project also recently dropped in an animated clip “Elephant Trumpets” featuring Da Buze Bruvas (Him-Lo and Clever1).
